Algebra II
Course Overview
Algebra II provides students with a deeper understanding of algebraic thinking and mathematical modeling. The course emphasizes conceptual understanding, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving while preparing students for college-level mathematics and standardized examinations.
Throughout the course, students explored both theoretical concepts and real-world applications of mathematics, with selected activities incorporating financial modeling and data interpretation.
Topics Covered
- Linear, Quadratic, Polynomial, Rational, and Exponential Functions
- Logarithmic Functions
- Complex Numbers
- Probability and Statistics
- Sequences and Series
- Mathematical Modeling
- Introductory Financial Applications
Teaching Philosophy
My goal is to help students understand why mathematical methods work rather than simply memorizing formulas. I emphasize conceptual reasoning, multiple solution strategies, and real-world applications to encourage mathematical thinking and independent problem-solving.
Whenever appropriate, classroom examples connect mathematics with finance, statistics, and everyday decision making to demonstrate the practical value of mathematical reasoning.
Course Materials
The course includes instructor-developed materials, including:
- 📄 Comprehensive Review Part I
- 📄 Comprehensive Review Part II
- Original classroom assessments and review exercises
- Supplementary practice materials created using LaTeX
